FREE trees for Charlotte residents Feb 10 from TreesCharlotte

Need some trees for your yard? TreesCharlotte is hosting a FREE TreeStore at the old Eastland Mall site at the corner of Central Avenue and Sharon Amity Road. Each Charlotte household is eligible for up to 2 FREE trees. Proof of Charlotte residency (such as a driver’s license, utility bill, etc.) as well as a valid email address must be provided in order to participate.

One of the missions of TreesCharlotte is to help the City of Charlotte and City Council reach their goal of planting 500,000 trees by 2050. They therefore limit efforts to expand the canopy within city limits and limit participation to Charlotte residents.

At the TreeStore, you will be trained on how to properly plant and care for your tree(s). Tree training is mandatory. You will then be asked to complete and sign a Stewardship Pledge Form with your home and email address (mandatory) and declare your pledge to take care of the tree(s) they provide.

They cannot guarantee species type or quantities. Trees are 6-10′ tall, and will not be reserved or transported.

This is a first come, first served event as quantities are limited.
